In 2005, after months of work, the Diocesan Council adopted the "Creating a Healthy Environment" policy. It represents a part of our baptismal commitment to respect the dignity of every human being. Council's work brings together the diocese's 1996 policy on adults in the workplace, and the "Model Policies for the Protection of Children and Youth From Abuse" developed by the Church Pension Group with the Nathan Network and others.
The booklet is a resource. It contains the polcy, policy guidelines, definitions and an appendix full of resource and background material. All of this is offered to help create a safer place for children, youth, adults, church personnel, and others. Links to additional resources are included below as well.
